Does Anyone Celebrate Better Than Mexico?
The vibes in Mexico City right now are seriously fun.
The Angel of Independence, a golden statue of an angel clutching a laurel crown, weighs roughly seven tons and sits atop a large column inside a roundabout on Paseo de la Reforma, a main road in downtown Mexico City. Built in 1910, it commemorates Mexico’s victory in its War for Independence.
But these days, the statue and surrounding area are used as a gathering ground to celebrate another kind of Mexican victory.
